Formal languages are in the core of models computation and their behavior. A rich family for many classes have been widely studied. Hyperproperties lift conventional trace-based from a set execution traces to sets executions. shown be powerful formalism expressing reasoning about information-flow security policies important properties cyber-physical systems. Although there is an extensive body work on formal-language representation trace properties, we currently lack such general characterization hyperproperties. We introduce hyperlanguages over finite words them. Essentially, these express multiple by using assignments quantified word variables. Relying standard regular languages, propose hyperregular expressions finite-word hyperautomata (NFH), modeling class hyperlanguages. demonstrate ability hyperproperties traces. explore closure complexity fundamental decision problems as nonemptiness, universality, membership, containment various fragments NFH.
